Job Duties
The DevOps team is seeking a qualified individual to support technology and technology systems for the VDOE through coordination between the operational and development teams. This includes, but is not limited to, assisting systems administrators to patch and maintain stable operating systems, troubleshooting access and performance issues in the environments, and perform all activities necessary to provide proactive maintenance to avoid unplanned service interruption. In addition, the DevOps Manager will be responsible for developing and supporting effective source code management and release strategies.
Minimum Qualifications
Project Knowledge – experience working in product or project building teams.
Cloud Systems Administration – experience serving as a systems administrator for a cloud environment including both structured databases as well as compute instances
Experience working with the configuration and maintenance of Deployment Pipelines and establishing Release Management best practices
Experience integrating CI/CD tools, Configuration Management, Infrastructure as Code, code scanning and automated testing tools into Release Management processes.
Problem Solving and Innovation – able to creatively solve customer issues while operating in a potentially restricted environment
Self-motivated and directed – Maintains organization of work, manages deadlines, and clearly communicates progress or indicates the need for assistance as workload demands.
Collaboration – Work in a highly collaborative team to identify opportunities for product improvements and recommend modifications. Collaborate with analysts and stakeholders to gather business requirements, define metrics, and develop solutions to address data needs. Be a team player and contribute to the greater product success.
Knowledge of Version Control Systems, CI/CD Pipeline tools, Configuration management tools
Additional Considerations
College degree in information systems, computer science, or related field or demonstrated progressively responsible experience in developing and maintaining information systems.
Demonstrated experience working with CI/CD Pipelines and Configuration Management Tools
