This position will collect and analyze real time and historical Dining Services data, providing clear and timely reports to Dining operation staff to facilitate changes in operating to better serve the customers. Additionally, this position will serve as the resident expert for Dining Service’s mobile ordering platform, including but not limited to assisting with the contract administration, data entry, upkeep, and maintenance of their point of sale and mobile ordering systems. Is the primary point of contact between our mobile ordering platform company and Dining Locations and will maintain vendor relationships; facilitating new menu creation, equipment installation and maintenance, and basic hardware and software troubleshooting. Liaison with IT and NI&S for cash register, credit card, and mobile ordering equipment data ports. Assists with cashier training. Assists with audits pertaining to funds handling and PCI compliance. Ensures friendly, efficient, and accurate customer service. Responsible for providing cash register support via telephone during all operating hours and all days.
• Associate degree and/or equivalent training and experience in business information technology, finance, accounting or related area.
• Experience working in a university setting.
• Experience preparing, processing reports, spreadsheets, purchase requisitions, and accounts receivable billing.
• Experience with automated finance and purchasing systems (Banner and HokieMart/EVa).
• Standard office communications and procedures and excellent customer service with effective communication.
• Knowledge of accounting usage of a Chart of Accounts.
• Recent college graduates with the appropriate class work will be considered.
• Microsoft Office software including Excel and Word.
• Processing complex reports and spreadsheets.
• Previous administrative experience with register systems.
• Cashier in a retail environment.
• Virginia Tech Funds Handling processes and procedures.
• Standard office communications and procedures.
• Excellent customer service with effective communication.
• Familiar with Micros, CS Gold, FreedomPay and Grubhub systems desired.
$46,000 - $50,000, commensurate with experience.
