Director of Online Business Analysis

Position Summary:

VCU Strategic Enrollment Management and Student Success is actively searching for a Director of Online Business Analysis. The Director of Online Business Analysis will be a part of the newly created VCU Online Operations team and will be responsible for designing, forecasting, and delivering the financial marketing, recruitment, enrollment, and retention operating model. This position will measure daily/monthly/term-over-term performance in addition to setting enrollment targets that drive profitable revenue growth for Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU).

Reporting to the Associate Vice President of Online Operations, this role will collaborate with marketing, enrollment, student success, program directors, and deans to set the enrollment targets and continuing student roadmap to drive and retain online enrollments for VCU. This role will also support the online operations annual budgeting process and advise on allocation of funding based on performance opportunities.

Core Responsibilities:

• Develops and maintains suitable databases and other tools for monitoring and reporting a wide range of key internal and external information, statistics and performance measures for VCU Online.
  
• Leads execution for month-end close processes and financial reporting; communicates results to VCU Online leadership and broader VCU executive leadership.
  
• Plays a key role in VCU Online’s annual budgeting process and works collaboratively with the AVP of Online Operations to effectively set revenue, cost, and KPI targets for all programs.
  
• Partners with the Provost Office Senior Leadership team on long-term forecasting, sensitivity analysis, and scenario planning for high-demand programs.
  
• Evaluates and approves business case proposals across the Marketing Account Management team on media spend, headcount, outsourced vendor support, and technology investment.
  
• Uncovers areas of opportunity for fixed cost optimization and redeployment of savings into strategically important growth and enabling areas of online programs.
  
• Creates daily, monthly, quarterly, and annual reports outlining marketing, enrollment, and retention performance.
  
• Monitors finance progress against leadership team strategic goals and identifies bottlenecks to progress, identifying potential solutions, providing advice, and escalating as needed to ensure goals are achieved.
