The Department of Plastic and Maxillofacial Surgery at the University of Virginia (UVA) School of Medicine is seeking applications for qualified individuals for the position of Chief in the Division of Dentistry. In addition to clinical responsibilities, the position will have a large focus on recruiting new faculty, developing specialty programs and operational alignment within the health system. The position involves administration of the Division and the GPR, didactic and clinical instruction of residents, and direct patient care. There are opportunities to expand research and educational activities as well. Expansion of the program in all regards is an aspirational goal and would be supported in the context of serving the needs of the health system.
The Chief will lead one of several divisions within the Department of Plastic and Maxillofacial Surgery and report to the Chair of the Department. The Dentistry Division will be integrated into the Department and will benefit from shared resources across all missions.
