The Department of Motor Vehicles Motor Carrier Administration is seeking to hire a Program Specialist (Work Leader).
The individual will be responsible for providing support in a fast volume environment to motor carrier programs and assisting motor carrier customers with Intrastate Operating Authority (OA), Unified Carrier Registration System (UCR), EZ Fleet, EZ REG, and Heavy Vehicle Use Tax (HVUT). Responsible for training new employees to the Operations Department on Operating Authority transactions, EZ Fleet transactions, EZ REG transactions, and in posting monies received through Motor Carrier programs. Responsible for training and ensuring ongoing training for current employees in the Operations Department. Responsible for training DMV customers on the EZ Fleet and EZ REG programs. Responsible for creating and updating spreadsheets that track the statuses of EZ Fleet and EZ REG participants. Primarily responsible for assisting the Program Manager to support, train and develop current employees and monitor work center productivity. Works directly with DMV various administrations, the call center, other State and local personnel, industry representatives, and Agency Fiscal Affairs to resolve issues. When necessary, maintains automated files, reviews and processes vehicle title work, applications for OA, requests for for-hire vehicle registrations and related lease agreements as applicable, updates vehicle registration records with OA information, lease data and exemptions. Processes Operating Authority renewals, insurance filings, and proofs vehicles records for HVUT. Provides leadership for the staff in the absence of manager.

-Excellent oral and written communication skills
-Experience composing information in a clear, direct, and logical manner
-Experience researching and interpreting policies, procedures, law and regulations and explaining them to customers in a professional manner
-Extensive experience in quality customer service in a fast-paced and team-oriented environment
-Experience in properly handling multiple projects and tasks at the same time
-Excellent keyboarding and PC skills
-Team Leader work experience
-Experience providing leadership in the absence of management
-Knowledge of Intrastate Operating Authority
-Knowledge of EZ Fleet/EZ Reg programs
