Job Duties
The Patient Transport Driver will transport individuals from ESH to the community for the purpose of discharge and for discharge related community activities such as placement visits. Monitors patient behavior during transport to ensure they are calm and secure. Collaborate with social work staff to coordinate transportation schedules. Provides feedback to appropriate staff members (medical, nursing, social work) regarding patient transport needs and concerns. Maintains the assigned vehicle to ensure it is kept clean, operation, and safe for patient transportation while using the vehicle. During times when not actively transporting a patient or coordinating transportation, will perform discharge related tasks and other duties as assigned by the Social Work Director.
Minimum Qualifications
• Valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record for the last three years in all states in which licensed.
• Experience with patient transport in a healthcare setting.
• Experience working directly with individuals with challenging mental health and behavior issues in a public, residential, or psychiatric hospital.

• Provide coverage in the Mailroom when additional staffing support is needed.
• Provides coverage in area of Laundry Services to include replenishment of linens for units when needed.
• Assist with PSR patient monitoring during downtime or in between scheduled runs.
• Provide monitoring during patient/family visitation during normal work hours.
• Assist with patient transports and staff transporting in inclement weather and/or emergencies.
