The School of Medicine Office of Faculty Affairs and Development seeks an Education and Outreach Coordinator to assist with the management of faculty education/professional development and outreach duties. The Office of Faculty Affairs and Faculty Development supports University of Virginia School of Medicine faculty throughout their careers in their work as teachers, investigators, and patient care providers. We facilitate the success of faculty by providing comprehensive support services and professional development opportunities. We offer timely, efficient, faculty-focused assistance that fosters faculty satisfaction and engagement while allowing each faculty member to thrive personally and professionally. The incumbent will work as a liaison for this office and will communicate with units and departments across the School of Medicine, the University, the local community, and beyond. The incumbent will work in various systems/platforms to assure the work of the office runs smoothly and efficiently.
Job responsibilities include:
Perform all duties of Education and Outreach Assistant.
Utilize CME Tracker staff portal to maintain faculty development course offerings and participation data. Incumbent will add workshops to CME Tracker, verify attendance, pull reports regularly to demonstrate participation and breadth of course offerings, etc.
Initiate and process UVA Procurement purchase orders for consultation fees, catering, and office supplies. Work with internal and external supplies to procure items/services.
Coordinate event logistics such as venue/AV reservations/catering, produce course syllabi in adherence to CME rules and regulations, and create announcements that manager will distribute to all faculty.
Create and schedule social media posts to highlight faculty achievements and learning opportunities. Primary platforms used by the office of faculty development: Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram.
Update and edit the faculty development website using WordPress and recommend improvements.
Execute special projects for School of Medicine Dean’s office such as writing standard operating procedures, coordinating logistics for a variety of events and programs, and helping organize awards events.
In addition to the above job responsibilities, other duties may be assigned.
This is a restricted position and is dependent upon project need, availability of funding and performance. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education: Bachelor's degree
Experience: At least one year of experience. Relevant student experience may be considered.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
This is primarily a sedentaryjob involving extensive use of desktop computers. Thejob does occasionally require traveling some distance to attend meetings, and programs.
