Job Duties
The Virginia Center for Behavioral Rehabilitation (VCBR), a behavioral treatment center known for securely housing and treating civilly committed sex offenders is actively recruiting for Security Officers for the Emergency Response Team (ERT).
Members of the Emergency Response Team will: Respond in a professional manner to various incidents and emergencies as trained Participate appropriately in the implementation of Aggressive Management Plans Make routine rounds to ensure the safety and security of residents and staff Conduct regular searches on the Secure Treatment Unit and throughout the facility as directed
This position will also be responsible for custody, control and escape prevention of the resident population. This involves:
Supervision of resident movement Checking visitors and residents for contraband Maintaining security at gates and entrances Reporting on resident conduct and performance Supervising resident activities Responding and intervening in emergency situations
Minimum Qualifications
High School Diploma or Equivalent
Valid Virginia Driver’s License
Ability to work any shift
Must be a U.S. citizen and at least 18 years’ of age
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in mental or behavioral health
Experience working in an institutional work environment
Security experience (or similar role)
