Piedmont Virginia Community College (PVCC) is a nonresidential two-year institution of higher education that serves Central Virginia - principally residents of the City of Charlottesville and the counties of Albemarle, Buckingham, Fluvanna, Greene, Louisa and Nelson. Our scenic campus is located in Albemarle County, Virginia. We are one of 23 community colleges in Virginia that comprise the Virginia Community College System (VCCS).
The EMS lab instructor will serve as a supplemental instructor in the classroom and lab setting. This position is responsible for coordinating with the Instructor and/or EMS program head for delivery and evaluation of required practical skills in the laboratory classroom setting; assisting with setup and breakdown of equipment and supplies; observe, evaluate, and document student performance on the skills covered in a particular lesson. Flexible hours, based on course level and course schedule to include daytime, evening, and Saturday hours. This is a part time position up to 29 hours per week with no benefits.
Minimum Qualifications:
National Registered Paramedic and Healthcare Provider CPR; Demonstrated competency in all areas of EMS patient assessment and both BLS and ALS skills performance; considerable work or volunteer experience as an ALS provider.
Preferred Qualifications:
Virginia OEMS Education Coordinator or NAEMSE Instructor, certifications (instructor preferred) in BLS, ACLS, PHTLS, AMLS, PALS, EPC and/or other related courses. Experience with instructing EMS initial certification courses. Experience evaluating National Registry Paramedic skill examination.
