Strong oral and written, organizational, administrative, typing, computer (e.g., Microsoft Office or similar software), analytical, and customer service skills.

Demonstrated ability to provide executive-level support to senior managers and interact with a wide variety of individuals inside and outside the agency.

Ability to communicate tactfully with individuals and groups, work independently and with others, and make appropriate judgments and recommendations on issues with broad agency impact.

Ability to manage a variety of assignments and changing priorities, and to perform administrative duties such as reception, typing, filing, meeting and travel logistics, and supplies.

Ability to interpret and apply policies and procedures, respond to requests timely and professionally, handle confidential information with discretion, and perform quantitative and narrative reporting.

Experience providing administrative support and/or managing office activities for an executive, senior manager, or board in a government setting and/or with legislative activities.

Familiarity with Virginia state government processes such as eVA procurement, travel reimbursement, and records retention.
