Facilities and Events Office Assistant (Staff Wage)

The UVA School of Education and Human Development (EHD) is seeking a highly organized and dedicated Facilities and Events Office Assistant to support facilities management and events related to the Dean's Office and EHD. Reporting to the Dean’s Office Project Manager, this role provides administrative support, ensures the smooth day-to-day operation of facility needs, assists with event setup and breakdown, and delivers excellent customer service to faculty, staff, students, and visitors. The ideal candidate will be reliable, professional, and proactive in addressing the needs of the EHD community.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist with room and building access.
  • Support event setup and breakdown for Holloway Hall and Ridley 302.
  • Submit Work Orders to Facilities Management.
  • Provide assistance for Dean’s Office events, including occasional evening and weekend special events.
  • Perform additional projects as assigned to support the goals and objectives of the Dean’s Office.
  • Successful candidate will have strong communication and interpersonal skills with a focus on customer service.
  • Dependable, punctual, and able to work independently.
  • Team-oriented, with the ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.
  • Prior experience in customer service or administrative support is a plus.
  • Collaborate effectively with EHD team members.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).

Position Compensation: $25.00

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Education: High school diploma or equivalent

Experience: Two years of related experience

Licensure: None

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Will require frequent traveling, standing, and climbing stairs to access buildings and facilities in order to assess conditions and review facility projects. The position will require occasional light lifting, bending and stooping, in addition to the use of desktop computers in an office environment.
