Position Primary Purpose and General Responsibilities
This candidate will be reporting to the faculty lead appointed by the Cancer Center Director serving as a liaison as needed and coordinating engagement activities within Massey Cancer Center’s defined geographic region (e.g., 66 localities), specifically with faith- based organizations of all denominations (e.g., churches, temples, mosques, etc.). The Engagement Coordinator will assist with establishing community partnerships between the Massey Cancer Center (MCC) and its faith-based stakeholders within the defined region in order to improve community conditions, drive effective collaboration for health equity, and improve the health and well being of all Virginians. The Engagement Coordinator manages Facts and Faith Fridays, faith-based town halls, and other related faith-based programming for MCC senior leaders and in alignment with the MCC Director’s vision and priorities. This role will report to faculty lead and will require a hybrid work environment - two (2) days per week working from home and at least three (3) days per week of traveling to faith-based organizations within the MCC catchment area (e.g., 66 localities) and/or to MCC. The Engagement Coordinator will also be required to attend all relevant Community Outreach and Engagement (COE) and Administration staff meetings/ retreats as determined by their faculty lead.

College degree and 2-3 years of relevant professional experiences or the equivalent combination of education, experience, and training
Ability to travel to faith-based organizations (e.g., churches, temples, mosques, etc.) within the Massey catchment area (e.g., 66 localities) and to the Massey Cancer Center at least three (3) days per week. Employee can work from home two (2) days per week
Preferred Hiring Standards
Advanced degree and/or 3-5 years of relevant professional experience or equivalent education, experience, and training; Fluency in English
Preference for candidate familiar with the faith-based organizations (e.g., churches, temples, mosques, etc.) within the Massey catchment area (e.g., 66 localities)
