Job Duties

The Department of Medical Assistance Services (DMAS) is excited to offer a competitive opportunity to serve as the Fee for Service Grievance Coordinator in the High Needs Support Division.

Job responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

The objective and purpose of the Fee for Service Grievance Coordinator is to ensure that all grievances related to fee for service home and community-based services (HCBS) are investigated and resolved in accordance with state and federal policy.

This position is responsible for ensuring all investigations are fair, unbiased and objective. The incumbent will conduct interviews with individuals receiving services, service providers and other stakeholders as deemed necessary.

The position does require frequent overnight travel across the Commonwealth.

Minimum Qualifications

Competitive candidates will meet these minimum qualifications:

Considerable knowledge of all 1915c waiver (CCC+, Community Living, Family and Individual Supports and Building Independence) services and person-centered planning principles.

Considerable knowledge of the Home and Community Based (HCBS) Settings Rule and Medicaid Access Rule.

Knowledge of investigative best-practices (program development/planning/ implementation).

Experience in analyzing data for trending and tracking.

Experience with all Microsoft products.

Knowledge/ experience of interpreting and applying state and federal regulations.

Experience in meeting deadlines.

Experience with internal/external stakeholders.

Additional Considerations

Competitive candidates should meet these additional considerations:

Knowledge of the Virginia Waiver Management System (WaMS).
