VCU’s Facilities Management Department is seeking to hire a Finance Manager, Capital Reporting in FMD Accounting Services. The Finance Manager, Capital Reporting is responsible for providing high quality administrative, reporting, and fiscal support to the FMD Division for Capital Outlay, Maintenance Reserve, and University Renovations.
Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
Maintaining the budget and financial data for project reporting
Monthly preparation of the expenditure requisition draws and reconciliations of project indexes
Procure and approval of requisitions and PO’s processed for Capital and Maintenance projects
Initiate the creation of project ledgers, and loading project budgets in Banner
Manage the budget and update project cost in E-builder for capital and non-capital projects
Supervise the functions of Accountant(s), who are responsible for invoicing capital, non-capital and maintenance reserve projects, reconciliations, fiscal transactions, creation and approval of purchase orders
Minimum Hiring Standards
Ability to manage multiple and varied priorities
Good oral and written communication skills
Good organizational skills
Experience in the development of management level financial reports to track budgets, commitments, expenditures for various reporting
Knowledge of the use of MS Excel, Word, Access, and other office equipment is required
Knowledge of accounts payable/accounts receivable policies and procedures
Ability to support and adapt to Administrative changes within the Division
High School graduate, GED, or equivalent
Demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment or commitment to do so as a staff member at VCU
Preferred Hiring Standards
Bachelor's degree in accounting, business, or related field
Strong knowledge of Banner, AiM, eVA, and other financial management systems
Experience in higher education, the area of office management, and/or relevant work experience
