Mission / Goal of Unit

We are driven to develop and implement initiatives at VCU and VCU Health that introduce the principles of health equity into education and training, research, an patient services activities.

As the hub, we connect the talent and expertise that exists at the university and health system with that of community organizations to develop and build partnerships focused on addressing health inequities and disparities. We'll do this by:
  • Preparing health care professionals, including VCU Health team members, and students to apply the knowledge and principles of health to their everyday work.
  • Increasing the quality of high-quality equity research that generates new knowledge for the community and related disciplines.
  • Expanding the capacity for VCU, VCU Health, and community partners to collaborate and address health inequities.


    • Typical Duties

    This position is responsible for managing and monitoring the fiscal, sponsored programs, and ARMICS (Agency Risk Management & Inventory Control Standards) aspects of the Office of Health Equity (OHE). This position may also be asked to provide limited programmatic support through event logistics and communications. The Financial Analyst's responsibilities include:
    • Demonstrates a commitment to risk assessment for accuracy of data and internal controls
    • Monitors and reviews department operating budget
    • Assists the department's Program planning and implementation
    • Supports the Medicaid Administrative Claiming process
    • Supports the submission and ongoing review and reporting for grants and contracts
