The ASGOG Division at the University of Virginia is seeking applications and nominations for an outstanding physician who will provide ambulatory obstetrics and gynecology services. Provision of inpatient L&D services in the ASGOG call rotation and minor operative services may be incorporated into the position based upon candidate interests and qualification. This position may be full-time or part-time, is based in outpatient clinics supported by the Department of OBGYN, with L&D services provided in UVA Medical Center, and minor operative services in locations within the Charlottesville area.
We are seeking an energetic and collaborative physician with passion for both excellent patient care and teaching the next generation in an academic environment. Services will be provided in clinics within the UVA Health footprint including multiple sites in the Charlottesville area and the UVA Health clinic at Zion CrossRoads.

The University of Virginia is the sole tertiary-care referral center for Central Virginia and we have experienced continued growth in clinical obstetric and high-risk volume. The department has an active and diverse obstetrics team including Generalists, high-risk obstetrics, and midwives. Within benign gynecology services include routine care, care for complex gynecological concerns, family planning, as well as multi-disciplinary clinics for gender affirmation surgery and vulvar disorders.
Our Labor and Delivery is ranked in the 2021 top 1% by the Leapfrog Group of all labor and delivery units in the US, reflecting our commitment to providing the highest quality perinatal care. The Department has an excellent faculty and resident staff, which is given appropriate resources for research, including basic science laboratories.
University of Virginia Health is composed of the School of Medicine, School of Nursing, University Physicians Group and the Medical Center. The Medical Center is a 735-bed, level 1 trauma center that serves as the primary, specialty and sub-specialty hospital for central Virginia. The University of Virginia consists of 13 schools in Charlottesville, plus College at Wise in rural Southwest Virginia.
Required Qualifications:
Education: MD or equivalent +/- PhD by appointment start date
Licensure: Board certification in Obstetrics and Gynecology and Maternal-Fetal Medicine
Demonstrated commitment to promoting diversity, equity and inclusion
Research experience at the junior level
Published research in clinical and/or translational science
Evidence of a national reputation through published research, committee work, organizational involvement, etc.
