General Description: This position performs moving, loading, unloading, setup, breakdown, delivery of materials, equipment, furniture, and other items per work-order instructions or as instructed by supervisor. Assist with the campus-wide small moving and delivery program. This is an entry to mid-level position.
Duties and Tasks:
Include the breakdown, storage, delivery, reassembly and staging of office furniture and other College property as directed.
The safe and efficient operation of vehicles and material handling equipment to facilitate moving College property.
Safe and efficient use of manual and electric tools to disassemble and reassemble College property as needed.
To render assistance to the Warehouse Supervisor and Surplus departments as directed.
Assist with event set up at required locations.
When required, assist in the effective execution of all warehouse operating systems to include delivery, pickups, receiving, processing and distribution.
Support Campus Storeroom Managers, providing coverage to the Campus Storeroom during periods of absence and filling in to support the printer program at the covered campus.
Assist College Faculty and Staff with picking up, moving and delivering College Property. Loads and unloads equipment and furniture from trucks.
Maintains work area and equipment in a safe, clean and orderly fashion.
Follows standard and prescribed safety regulations; notifies supervisor of any problems or delays in projects. Interact with customers and team members in a professional manner.
Essential Functions:
May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor.
Minimum Qualifications:
KSAs:
Operates vehicles of various sizes from pick-ups, 3/4 & 1 Ton vans to Cab-Over Diesel 16’ Dry box truck with a 4,000 lb. lift gate
Working knowledge of securing loads for delivery in those vehicles.
Required Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Must have clean driving record and be capable of driving box trucks up to 26 ft. long
Must be able to consistently lift up to 75 lbs. and maintain physical ability for strenuous physical work of lifting, pulling, and pushing object up to 75 lbs.
Preferred Qualifications:
Prior work experience in a physically demanding field (furniture/equipment mover, delivery driver, warehouse work, etc.)
Valid driver’s license
