Job Duties

The Department of Biology at Norfolk State University invites applications for a one-year term position at the rank of Instructor. The department offers a diversity of options that are outlined in three curriculum models, each of which leads to a Bachelor of Science in Biology. We seek candidates who are broadly trained in the field of biology having the capabilities to teach both introductory level and upper-level biology courses. The department is particularly interested in candidates with experience teaching General Biology and Anatomy & Physiology.

Minimum Qualifications

  1. M.S. or Ph.D. in Biology or a closely related field with broad training in biology.
  2. Demonstrated ability to effectively engage with students from a variety of backgrounds.

Additional Considerations

  1. Evidence of ability to teach general biology for majors and non-majors and/or anatomy & physiology courses.
