The Darden School of Business at the University of Virginia seeks to hire a full-time academic General (non-tenure track) professor to teach multiple courses across its MBA degree programs. This faculty position will be affiliated with the Leadership and Organizational Behavior Area. The Darden School offers face-to-face and blended-delivery instructional formats, with a calendar that includes sessions offered weekdays, evenings, and on weekends across all twelve months. Darden’s full-time residential MBA degree is offered in Charlottesville, VA; its blended-delivery formats for working professionals (Part-Time MBA and Executive MBA) are offered in the Washington, DC Metro area (Rosslyn, VA).

Responsibilities for this position include the development and teaching of business-relevant graduate courses, and service to the university, community, and department. The preferred candidate will have the ability to teach courses in organizational behavior, leadership, and human resource management. Teaching and/or professional experience in some of the following is also desired: leadership development, careers, negotiations, coaching, leading teams, and change management. Interest in and ability to teach experienced executives across a wide range of sectors will also be a plus.

The successful candidate will have demonstrated passion for, and ideally prior experience in, student-centered case-based teaching and experiential learning. They will also have strong interest or experience in curriculum and course development for the courses they or others teach in a business school context, which includes case-writing. The successful candidate’s career interests will align with the mission of the Darden School: to improve the world by inspiring responsible leaders, through unparalleled transformational learning experiences.

The successful candidate will possess at least a master's degree (doctorate strongly preferred) in a business-related discipline (likely organizational behavior, management/leadership, HR, or social psychology) from an accredited institution by the time of hire. While the position does not require an active research agenda, it is expected that the successful candidate will stay current on the evidence base that supports their teaching. If desired, active faculty involvement in the department’s research community and/or thought leadership advancing the practice of management will be encouraged and supported.
