Summary: As a member of the HR Team, ensure that the compliance, and programmatic needs and requirements of the Department of Internal Medicine are met on a daily basis.
Typical Duties: This position is responsible for the daily administration of HR activities for the Department of Internal Medicine and the Department’s 11Divisions. Specific compliance areas include hiring, recruitment, and termination processes, HR administration assistance, timekeeping, and assisting divisions with following VCU and VCUHS HR policies and procedures. The individuals serve as a resource for Division Administrators, and staff regarding HR compliance and processing daily HR actions.
Typical Required Education and Experience: Proficiency using Microsoft Office suite and database software. Knowledge of University’s Human Resources policies and procedures. Previous experience using Banner for Human Resources and Timekeeping. Analytical skills to make independent decisions and consult with supervisor as necessary. Ability to accurately follow instructions and serve as a consultant to other administrative staff regarding policies and procedures. The incumbent should be able to manage multiple projects and work independently as well as with the DOIM HR Team. This position requires excellent communication skills to work with various members of the organization. Ability to work in a diverse environment required.
Preferred Education and Experience: B.S. Degree preferred or equivalent experience in University Human Resources administration in a healthcare environment.
Job Specific Physical and Cognitive Requirements:
Light lifting (less than 20 lb), fast pace, multiple stimulation, intense customer interaction, frequent change, memory, reasoning, hearing, reading, analyzing, logic, and verbal and written communication.

This is a non-benefit position.
Hours / weeks - up to 29 hours weekly
