Job Duties
• Maintain an effective recruiting cycle that ensures a positive experience for candidates and internal customers
• Manage full-cycle recruiting, including consultations with hiring teams, promoting jobs, sourcing candidates, screening, interviewing, coordinating the selection and offer process, supporting the hiring process, and onboarding
• Partner with institute leadership and hiring managers to develop a comprehensive understanding of candidate talent requirements
• Manage the Application Tracking System, including posting positions, reviewing applications, closing postings, dispositioning candidates, tracking candidates through the hiring process, and other functional requirements
• Assist with the interview process as needed, including participating in interviews and utilizing a variety of proven recruitment and selection tools and methods
• Assist with the execution and facilitation of various HR and recruitment events, including new employee orientation, hiring events, career fairs, and recruitment training
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local recruitment and employment laws and regulations and institute policies and procedures
• Stay up to date on emerging higher education trends to inform and guide recruitment strategies and recommend external recruiting technology or resources as necessary
• Works effectively as a team member, embracing and fostering VMI’s mission
• Analyzing and reporting human capital data
• Performs other related duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or comparable experience
• 2+ years of relevant experience in Human Resources preferred
• Proficient in Microsoft Suite
• Excellent listening, oral, and written communication skills
• Strong problem-solving, organizational, and analytical skills
• Experience with PageUp (Virginia’s recruitment system), Colleague, Cardinal, and Entrisik preferred
Additional Considerations
• Possess public communication skills that allow the professional representation of VMI to a variety of business and community customers and associates
• Excellent time-management skills and a proven ability to meet deadlines
• Must be proactive and independent with the ability to take initiative
