Job Description
The Department of Mechanical Engineering at Virginia Tech is seeking applications for a teaching faculty position at the Instructor rank with an anticipated start date of August 2027. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching undergraduate courses in thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, heat and mass transfer, and related fields. Instructors have a commitment to the instructional mission of the department, with a primary focus on undergraduate teaching, curricular and program development, and the design and integration of innovative pedagogy.
Required Qualifications
Applicants must hold a PhD degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related discipline by the start time of their appointment.
Preferred Qualifications
Teaching experience as the lead instructor in mechanical engineering undergraduate courses is preferred.
