The Department of Economics seeks to fill one full-time tenure-ineligible position at the rank of Instructor to begin August 2025. We are looking for an economist well prepared to teach a variety of economics courses, including large sections of introductory microeconomics and macroeconomics.

Responsibilities: This tenure-ineligible position will support the teaching mission of the Department of Economics. Responsibilities include teaching courses at the undergraduate level. The standard teaching load is four classes per semester, with additional service requirements according to department needs.

Required Qualifications:

• Doctorate in Economics earned by August 2025
  
• Demonstrated experience working in and fostering an environment of respect, professionalism and civility with a population of faculty, staff, and students from various backgrounds and experiences, or a commitment to do so as a faculty member at VCU.
  

Preferred Qualifications:

• Demonstrated excellence in teaching, including large sections of 100-200 students
  
• Experience using online and experiential instructional methods.
