Job Duties
•Develops and maintains an organized, methodical documentation system for communicating, managing and closing CAPs.
•Tracks, organizes, and coordinates with IT staff on audit findings to prepare responses.
•Works with Applications and Engineering to close audit findings.
•Updates CAP status on quarterly basis.
•Develops CAP responses.
•Drives remediation of CAP items.
•Creates monthly status report to IT Director on audit findings.
•Reviews IT manual and updates accordingly.
•Consolidates all IT policy into IT Manual.
•Gap analysis of IT policy to SEC 501 policy.
•Reviews and creates IT policy to align with SEC 501.
•Maintains IT Change Management Policy.
•Works with Information Security Office on policy.
•Researches Security policy and reviews IT policy for compliance.
•Works with Applications and Engineering teams on process and policy to align with SEC 501.
•Identifies information technology risks.
•Evaluates application software controls and IT operations.
•Works with auditors to organize and execute IT audits.
•Deciphers audit requests for the Department.
•Coordinates and track audits.
•Reviews final audit reports.
•Provides recommendations on responses and remediation of audit findings.
•Researches, analyzes and interprets policies and standards.
•Analyzes NIST/SEC501/525 security policies.
•Develops and maintains Disaster Recovery plan.
•Develops and maintains IT Continuity Of Operations (COOP) Plan.
•Oversees Disaster Recovery readiness and testing.
•Identifies information technology risks and recommend solutions to remediate.
•Collaborates with system owners to document backup and restoration plan(s) that includes specific details for each sensitive system.
•Maintains familiarity with the VSP COOP Plan and specific duties and responsibilities of Continuation Team members.
•Participates in COOP training and exercises as assigned.
•Maintains a COOP go-kit in accordance with the COOP Manual.
•May be required to perform other duties as assigned.
•May be required to assist the Department or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor.
Minimum Qualifications
•Experience identifying information technology risks and developing IT policy.
•Ability to track and drive remediation of audit findings.
•Ability to provide management with information and recommendations.
•Knowledge of and experience analyzing NIST/ SEC501/525 security policy.
•Knowledge and experience of application software controls, IT operations, and change management. Understanding of application/server/database technology.
•Experience researching, analyzing and interpreting policies and standards.
•Experience with Disaster Recovery planning/COOP.
•Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with various levels of management and agency staff.
•Ability to work independently with little guidance.
•Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite products.
•Excellent organizational skills.
•Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
•Graduation from high school or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications:
•Information Systems, Computer Science Technology, or related field or Bachelor’s degree in such field preferred, with significant related IT audit experience.
