Job Description:
Longwood University invites qualified applicants to apply for the position of Systems Analyst in Information Technology Services. The Systems Analyst works as part of the Software Application Services team to provide innovative solutions and excellent customer service while supporting the University's Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system, Ellucian Banner and third-party systems. This position will be primarily responsible for Human Resources and Admissions offices to provide support and guidance to these areas for Banner, other applications/systems and integrations needed to support the business and strategic needs of those areas.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Information systems support and business process analysis and activities in support of the University's ERP system, Ellucian Banner.
Project management, new system planning, analysis, development, enhancements, upgrades and implementation.
Troubleshoot problems with the university's ERP system and other 3rd party applications.
When required, works directly with end users and other support personnel on resolving functional and technical issues/questions.
Other duties assigned.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or related field or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
Considerable knowledge in the systems analysis, design and development processes employing industry best practices
Considerable knowledge in programming, debugging, and analysis of automated processes
Demonstrated ability to provide excellent customer service interacting effectively with internal and external customers
Analytical skills
Experience with database development on some of the following SQL, oracle database and PL/SQL, MS SQL server and T-SQL, MySQL objects and programming with the ability to develop reports and create system enhancements
Knowledge of Banner or a similar Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system, with specific experience in systems analysis, application design, and programming
Knowledge of full life-cycle development, with strong planning and project management skills and the ability to work a project through the cycle
Experience working on moderately complex IT projects with technical responsibilities
Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
Experience working in a higher education IT environment strongly preferred
