The Mountain Lake Biological Station seeks applications to fill a non-tenure-track Lecturer position during the 2026 summer academic term to teach courses in field biology. Advanced undergraduate and graduate-level field biology courses are offered in areas such as ecological genetics, community ecology, population biology, and behavioral ecology. Taxon-focused courses might include mammalogy, ornithology, herpetology, entomology, mycology, and botany. The anticipated enrollment is 12 students. Courses satisfy lab credit for Biology Majors. Courses run for three weeks. Instructors live and work at the Station for the duration of the course.

Compensation will be in the form of wages per course with no benefits.

A terminal degree in Biology or related field is expected but not required. A valid driver's license in good standing is preferred.

Field courses can be physically demanding, and participants should be willing to embrace long hours outdoors in sometimes rugged environments and in all weather conditions.
