Unit Paid Faculty teach additional courses on an as needed basis
The University of Virginia Department of Women, Gender & Sexuality (WGS) invites applications for a lecturer who would teach 3 courses over the 2022-23 academic year. The WGS Department aims to appoint an outstanding teacher and scholar whose scholarship addresses sexuality and gender in a global context. We are especially seeking candidates with expertise in Chicanx/Latinx and/or Asian/Asian American studies.
Ideally candidates would hold a relevant doctoral degree by the date of initial appointment. Successful candidates must offer evidence of teaching and research excellence, and must have strong written and oral communication skills. Anticipated start date is August 24, 2022, but the department has some flexibility about how the courses will be distributed between the fall and spring semesters. Applications will be reviewed beginning April 29, 2022 and will continue until the position is filled
The position is non-tenure track and compensation will take the form of wages.

This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers. The job does occasionally require traveling some distance to attend meetings, and programs.
