Job Description:

This role provides day and evening reception and administrative support at the Luray-Page County Center’s Welcome Desk to ensure smooth office operations. This role requires strong customer service skills and the ability to perform clerical tasks such as greeting visitors, answering phones, assisting with events, and supporting faculty needs. The position also involves using the Student Information System (SIS) to manage enrollment functions, including resolving admissions holds and processing student data changes. The specialist serves as a resource for new students by guiding them through enrollment steps and connecting them to advising, financial aid, and other services. Additional responsibilities include collaborating with Student Services collegewide, securing classrooms, and locking the building on scheduled evenings.
CompensationThe hourly pay range for this position is $20.06-$27.08, however, actual starting hourly rate will be commensurate with education, credentials, and/or experience. The position is part time and as such cannot exceed 29 hours per week and is not eligible for health or leave benefits. However, the position may offer educational benefits through our professional development and educational assistance policies.

Minimum Qualifications:

Additional Considerations:
- Higher Education experience, preferably with a focus in Admissions, Advising, Financial Aid or Records preferred
- Ability to communicate effectively in Spanish, both verbally and in writing, or demonstrated capacity and willingness to acquire proficiency to meet the needs of the position preferred
- Experience in a dynamic workplace that yields high-productivity and engagement preferred
- Proven subject matter knowledge, which may be evidenced by training, experience, and/or credentials preferred
