Job Duties
The Office of the Executive Secretary of the Supreme Court of Virginia is seeking applicants for the position of Magistrate Advisor with the Department of Magistrate Services. The magistrate advisor will provide legal assistance, services, education, advice and direction to the Virginia Magistrate System.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing substantive and procedural legal guidance and education in criminal and civil law to members of the Magistrate System.

Competitive candidates will be members in good standing with the Virginia State Bar, have extensive experience with the Virginia Magistrate System, a proven ability in conducting legal research and writing, the ability to create, develop, and conduct legal education and training presentations, excellent public speaking and computer skills, and experience with Microsoft Office and legal research software.
Special Requirements
This is a full-time, FLSA-exempt position requiring the ability to travel throughout the state. The successful candidate must maintain a flexible work schedule and be willing to be on-call at all times.
