Job Duties
Serve Virginia’s veterans and their dependents of the Commonwealth by ensuring they receive the benefits, support, quality care, and recognition they have earned through service and sacrifice.
Minimum Qualifications
Must be capable to understand and operate all cemetery equipment including gasoline and diesel engines and other mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and electronically controlled systems.
Must have the ability to diagnose and complete all necessary repairs in a timely manner.
Must be skilled in facilities maintenance and irrigation repair.
Must be able to effectively communicate within all levels of DVS Cemeteries.
Must be task-oriented having the ability to train other employees on equipment, tools and
irrigation systems.
Required to maintain a neat and presentable appearance while working during extreme weather conditions.
Must perform tasks with minimal to no supervision.
Additional Considerations
High school education/GED, automotive and equipment maintenance experience. Must be qualified to train employees to maintain and operate equipment and irrigation systems. The position requires a Valid Virginia driver's license.
