The Marketing unit within the Office of Communications at the University of Virginia is seeking a Marketing Coordinator to help our team manage projects, maintain marketing systems, assist in implementing marketing plans, brand management, events, and campaigns. Reporting to the Executive Director of Marketing, the Marketing Coordinator will execute and coordinate various day-to-day marketing responsibilities, assist in managing larger projects, provide hands-on management of systems and processes, and support the team in planning and deploying marketing efforts across the larger department. The ideal candidate must thrive in a fast-paced environment and have an eye for detail, strong communication and collaboration skills and sincere interest in marketing communications.
Responsibilities:
Support Executive Director of Marketing in executing marketing plans for internal and external clients and programs.
Manage relationships and programs across a wide variety of constituent areas.
Handle day to day marketing activities, working with other colleagues in Marketing as well as Creative, Digital and other teams, in support of key priorities.
Author and review creative and strategic briefs with the Executive Director of Marketing and internal teams and participate in project briefing meetings.
Assist as a member of the Marketing team on engagement events and production.
Provide project reports and presentations within the department including to Marketing Executive Director, AVP Marketing and other leadership as needed.
Provide support to Marketing Executive Director and AVP Marketing as needed
Skills and Competencies:
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Results-oriented and self-motivated, with strong attention to detail
Ability to balance multiple priorities and meet deadlines
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Proficiency in Excel, Keynote/PowerPoint and Word required
Experience with email marketing or similar helpful
Required Experience:
BA in English, Communications, Media, Marketing
At least one year of related experience required, two+ years preferred
Anticipated Hiring Range:
$50,000 to $55,000, commensurate with experience
