Primary Purpose and General Responsibilities:
Direct outreach and recruitment to targeted online, international, and out-of-state student audiences to create and sustain prospective student pipelines that supports the enrollment growth goals of the School of Education
Typical Duties:
The VCU School of Education invites candidates for the Recruitment Marketing/Marketing Recruitment Coordinator position. This position will coordinate the development of strategic communication plans with the Office of Communications to develop appropriate marketing materials for program promotion and continual improvement of school branding. This position will provide direct outreach and engage in recruitment activities to students, parents, community organizations, external partners, and counselors in targeted geographic areas. This position routinely interfaces with University officials on admissions/recruitment issues, counsels prospective students on their admissibility, handles assignments timely, and makes decisions independently with minimal guidance from the supervisor.
Required Qualifications:
-2 or more years of relevant experience in marketing, recruitment, and/or communications -Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, business, psychology, or related field -Considerable experience working with database, word processing, and graphics software -Experience in event and project planning, and excellent public interaction service skills -Experience using social media (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc) as a marketing tool -Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills -Demonstrated commitment to foster a diverse and inclusive environment as a team member in the School of Education and at VCU -Responsible, mature, self-starter with sound judgment, and the ability to handle sensitive/confidential matters -Ability to travel as needed for work
Preferred Qualifications:
-Extensive knowledge of and experience in college admissions, recruitment, and/or sales -Experience with Google Analytics, public relations, and/or strategic marketing analytics and planning -Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision -Strong comfort level with delivering presentations to large groups of people -Ability to work in a fast-paced environment -Excellent critical thinking skills
