The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Virginia (UVA) School of Medicine seeks applications for an Associate Professor Part- time.
The Associate Professor engages in scholarly activities beyond those associated with teaching and is expected to demonstrate professional productivity in research, based upon the availability of resources and consistent with the mission of the University.
Teaching - Teaching encompasses all activities that directly facilitate student learning, including the contact hours spent in the classroom, office hours, class preparation, grading, answering student email, student advising, evaluating and making available course materials, facilitating e-learning and related duties.
Research - the research component of the position includes participating in division, learner, and Departmental efforts.
Service- - University service involves membership in departmental, college-level and university committees, attending departmental meetings, student recruitment and processing routine paperwork such as filling out reports, answering email, participating in surveys and voting in university elections.
Clinical - Clinical encompasses provision of services in scope of clinical credentialing with UVA Health and partner entities.
In addition to the above job responsibilities, other duties may be assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education: MD or DO Experience: Three years Licensure: State of Virginia Medical doctor, Board Certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology and Board Certified in Maternal Fetal Medicine
Qualified candidates must have an MD or DO and be board-certified or board eligible by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology. The successful candidate must have excellent clinical skills and enthusiasm for Medical Education; an interest in clinical research is desirable and academic experience is preferred.
Salary and rank are commensurate with education and experience.
