Specific Duties and Responsibilities Include:
  • Prepare design documents for HVAC, Plumbing and Fire Protection using Revit for most projects.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable codes and university design guidelines.
  • Provide engineering calculations and analysis of mechanical systems with oversight from senior team members.
  • Perform construction administration services including submittal reviews, punchlist inspections, and project closeout.
  • Confirm existing conditions from drawing archives and site visits.
  • Adhere to and assist in developing department standards.
  • Develop and maintain project workbook using eBuilder.
  • Participate in meetings with project managers, consulting architects and engineers, University stakeholders, and others.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Required Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Experience: Four years of mechanical design experience; Proficiency in drafting mechanical systems (Revit preferred)
  • Licensure: Professional Engineer required (or ability to achieve within 6 months by comity)


Anticipated Compensation Range: $90,000 - $105,000, commensurate with experience; Sign-on bonus available!

This is a full-time exempt-level position with UVA benefits . Employee benefits are effective day one , and package highlights include:

Selected candidates will be required to complete all required background checks and health screening prior to the first day of employment.

Physical Demands: Employee will be required to crawl, kneel, squat, bend and twist in order to perform their work. Employee must travel around job sites. Employee will work with materials of different weights and perform repetitive motions.
