The Medication Utilization and Formulary Data Analyst is responsible for supporting Medication Utilization Strategy (MUS) and the University of Virginia (UVA) Pharmacy and Therapeutics (P&T) committee to ensure safe, effective, and value-based medication use at UVA. Strong skills in data analytics, database management, and SQL will be beneficial. Prior experience in pharmacy or health systems preferred but not required.
Create and maintain a database of P&T Committee actions and prepares routine and ad-hoc reports
Design, implement, and maintain reporting tools for cost savings and quality improvement initiatives to support operational and clinical pharmacy initiatives to improve the medication use process, enhance safety, and reduce costs
Develop and maintain reports and dashboards related to drug shortage management, purchasing history, and utilization trends to mitigate drug shortages
Evaluates opportunities for inventory optimization including pricing and contract opportunities, expiring medication review, and par optimization across the pharmacy enterprise (inpatient, clinics, infusion, etc.)
Builds and maintains electronic tracking and tools for non-formulary requests and refrigerator temperature excursions
Respond to data requests in a timely and professional manner

Position Compensation Range: $24.72 - $39.55 Hourly
Education: Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, IT or related field required Experience: Experience: 3 years relevant experience performing data analysis, extraction and systems interface, or 3 years relevant experience in pharmacy data analysis Licensure: None required
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers. The job does occasionally require traveling some distance to attend meetings, and programs.
