The Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine Division in the Department of Medicine is seeking a Clinical Research Coordinator, this position is open to multiple levels (Trainee - Intermediate). This position provides clinical trial management for new and existing research trials.The incumbent will perform analytical, technical, and professional level work. The incumbent will as well be trained and supervised in the screening and recruitment of subjects for clinical research primarily in pulmonary function testing (PFT) modalities, obtaining informed consent, collection and organization of clinical research data, communication with the IRB and applicable regulatory bodies, interaction with the clinical and research team, and on-going communications with study subjects.This position is restricted and contingent upon the continuation of funding.
Required qualifications:
Education: Must have an Associate’s degree. Preferences will be given to candidates with a Bachelor’s degree.
Experience: Experience in CRC work is expected to match the level at which the position is filled. Related graduate degree or clinically licensed RT or RN experience for 10 years may substitute for two years of experience if hired at the level of beginning or intermediate CRC. Experience with clinical pulmonary function testing is desired.Certification as a Clinical Research Coordinator (CCRC) and/or Clinical Research Associate (CCRA) is preferred and is encouraged within one year of eligibility.
Required Skills:
Candidate must have strong knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
Working knowledge of UVA patient scheduling and electronic medical records system is preferred.
