Patrick Henry Community College is a comprehensive two-year institution committed to student success, lifelong learning, and enrichment of the quality of life in the region it serves. Serving Martinsville, Henry County, Patrick County, and the southern portion of Franklin County, PHCC is a comprehensive open-door institution, accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools to award the associate degree. Patrick Henry offers 29 associate degree programs, 12 certificate programs and 38 career studies certificate programs. The college also delivers a variety of nontraditional programs such as customized workforce development training, industry-recognized certifications, developmental and transitional programs, and courses for personal enrichment.
Position Summary:
Patrick Henry Community College is always looking for qualified adjunct faculty to enhance its academic programs. We are seeking qualified adjunct faculty members to teach nursing courses. The college is primarily seeking individuals who are available to teach face to face (no distance learning or online teaching), daytime classes. Adjunct faculty positions are appointed on a course-by-course basis each semester as needed. Adjunct faculty are expected to maintain currency in their teaching disciplines and in regard to trends in community college education.
Compensation: Commensurate with education and experience.

Minimum Qualifications:
BSN required ; currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state of Virginia or hold multistate licensure privilege without any disciplinary action that currently restricts practice; must have two years of direct care experience in Medical Surgical, Geriatric, Pediatric or Mental Health Nursing. Current CPR American Heart Association BLS certification.
Candidates must be familiar with utilizing computer and other technologies for instruction.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
One year of pre-licensure teaching experience preferred. Master's Degree in Nursing (MSN) preferred
