Job Description

Serves as the first point of contact by greeting and welcoming Women’s Clinic and other patients, (in person or via the telephone). Responsible for answering incoming calls in a professional manner and checking in/out patients per established protocols. Responsible for scheduling patient appointments, registering patients, handling student medical records, and arranging patient referrals.

Required Qualifications

Ability to exercise good judgment and initiative in accomplishing duties.
Ability to deal diplomatically, efficiently, helpfully, and pleasantly with this patient population, both in person and on the telephone and in diverse situations is of prime importance.
Ability to interpret and follow written and oral instructions and to make decisions on medical referrals based on written protocols.
Strong oral communication skills and an outgoing manner.
Ability to interact and maintain effective working relationships with patients, the public, SHC staff, and the university community
Experience in a medical setting with demonstrated basic knowledge of medical terminology.
Experience and knowledge with using Electronic Medical Records (EMR)
Perform all duties within HIPAA and FERPA regulations.

Preferred Qualifications

Knowledge and/or experience working in a Women’s Health setting.
Experience working in a college health environment with a diverse patient population.
