The Department of Medicine, Division of Hematology/Oncology at the University of Virginia, seeks candidates for a clinical faculty position at the Assistant/Associate Professor level, with subspecialty focus on gastrointestinal neoplasms. Clinical track, rank, and tenure status are dependent upon qualifications.

The successful candidate will strengthen the clinical and clinical research efforts in GI oncology utilizing the excellent translational research opportunities and resources available at the University. Additionally, the incumbent will attend inpatient and outpatient services and participate in multidisciplinary team care and clinical research within the Cancer Center, for a growing number of patients with GI malignancies. As an integral part of the educational mission, the incumbent will actively participate in the teaching of fellows, residents, and medical students. This faculty position is designed for physicians focused on a career of clinical investigation and the provision of outstanding clinical care including active participation in our educational mission.

Qualifications

Candidates must have a MD or equivalent and be board-certified in Internal Medicine by appointment start date. Board-eligibility or Board-certification in Medical Oncology is required. Evidence of expertise in the care of patients with GI neoplasms is required.
