The Department of Medicine, Division of Hematology and Oncology at the University of Virginia seeks an open Rank Professor focused on Lymphoma and CLL clinical care and research and committed to a career in academic medicine. The Division of Hematology and Oncology is an expanding team of nearly 30 physicians and physician scientists with a vibrant clinical research portfolio. The successful candidate would be a member of the lymphoma and CLL clinical team and a member of the UVA Comprehensive Cancer Center, the only NIH designated Comprehensive Cancer Center in Virginia. The successful candidate will look to further current scholarly achievements through clinical and translational research opportunities. Translational collaborations within the Cancer center are encouraged. Participation in student, resident and fellow teaching is required and opportunities are abundant.
The Lymphoma and CLL team is a collaborative group of physicians, nurses, advanced practitioners and research coordinators with a goal to care for patients with these disorders through excellent clinical care and novel therapies. We are closely aligned with our cellular therapies colleagues to bring the most advanced therapies to our patients.
Candidates must have a MD or equivalent degree and be board certified/eligible in Hematology and/or Medical Oncology and have expertise in the care of Lymphoma and Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia. Board certification in Internal Medicine is encouraged. Rank and compensation are contingent upon qualifications and expertise.

-Interested individuals should have a strong interest in an academic medicine career as demonstrated by past experience with research and/or medical education
-Strong clinical skills in lymphoma and CLL are (needed) required and interest in clinical investigation and/or translational collaborations is encouraged
Responsibilities
-The successful candidate will be responsible for the outpatient clinical care of Lymphoma/CLL patients
-The successful Candidate will be a member of the UVA Comprehensive Cancer center and responsible for the development, recruitment and management of clinical investigations focused in lymphoma and CLL.
-The successful candidate will be responsible for inpatient care of a cadre of hematologic malignancies and cellular therapies on an intermittent basis
-The successful candidate will be responsible for the evaluation and education of medical students, medicine residents, hematology and oncology fellows, and advanced practitioners as well as other learners within the health system.

This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers. The job does occasionally require traveling some distance to attend meetings, and programs.
