Provides direct patient care to patients with kidney disease in the Health Science Center or in satellite areas. Demonstrates the technical skills to prepare and monitor the equipment used for hemodialysis.
Maintains necessary skills and competencies to perform the clinical functions related to dialysis.
Demonstrates the technical skills to prepare and monitor the equipment used for hemodialysis.
Supports Renal Services standards related to the hemodialysis environment.
Recognizes the importance of time sensitive issues.
Assumes responsibility for professional development of self and others according to departmental policy.
In addition to the above job responsibilities, other duties may be assigned.
Position Compensation Range: $16.64 - $25.79 Hourly
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education: High School Graduate or Equivalent. Experience: Previous health care experience preferred. Licensure: Certified as a Patient Care Dialysis Technician by a State Agency or Nationally Recognized Certification Program within 18 months of hire date. American Heart Association (AHA) Health Care Provider BLS certification required.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Job requires standing for prolonged periods, frequently bending/stooping/traveling; Repetitive motion: Building dialysis machines and wrist rotation. Proficient communicative, auditory and visual skills; Attention to detail and ability to write legibly; Ability to lift/push/pull 50 - 100lbs. May be exposed to fumes, chemicals, noise, blood/body fluids and infectious disease.
