Job Description

The Controller’s Office is seeking a Payroll Analyst to help ensure accurate and timely payroll processing. Key responsibilities include reviewing and resolving payroll anomalies before transmission, serving as the primary liaison with university departments for payroll-related functions, and interfacing directly with employees on payroll matters such as deductions, tax records, and non-resident documentation requirements. Additional duties include preparing and maintaining accurate payroll records and supporting other initiatives to contribute to the success of the office.

Required Qualifications

• Proficient user of Microsoft Office, Word and Excel.
• Strong analytical skills including the ability to analyze, interpret, and explain complicated financial transactions.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to provide customer service courteously and work effectively with diverse groups of people.
• Ability to work independently and handle diverse tasks while meeting deadlines.
• Ability to maintain confidential and sensitive information.

Preferred Qualifications

• A.S. or B.S. in accounting, business administration or similar.
• Experience using query tools such as Microsoft Access.
• Experience interpreting and applying payroll concepts, regulations.
• Experience understanding and applying policies and procedures.
• Experience conducting research, account analysis, and performing reconciliations.
