Job Duties
•Ensures Cardinal transactions are accompanied by appropriate source documents and any related electronic communication and/or hard copy memoranda to support action as applicable.
•Reviews the Pay Action Worksheet and/or confirms sworn service and the corresponding pay area to apply appropriate salary information within two days of receipt.
•Meets deadlines as required or notifies supervisor of mitigating circumstances.
•Independently resolves problems and tracks data requiring follow-up. Researches human resource data and prepares correspondence and transactions reports.
•Compares the monthly VRS Snapshot with corresponding Cardinal data and OEBS data beginning the first workday of the month.
•Generates the contribution confirmation excel file and the Cardinal Report files immediately after confirmation of the prior month’s Snapshot.
•Reconciles VRS information after completing a review all transactions and creditable compensation.
•Develops and maintain the tracking spreadsheet for annual performance evaluations. Forwards notices of incomplete documentation to division Captains as applicable.
•Ensures all evaluations are accounted for each performance year.
•Provides timely information to the Classification and Compensation Manager regarding any performance evaluations rated as Marginal or Below Contributor.
•Tracks six and 12 month SP-141 forms for receipt within prescribed timeframes
•Consistently develops and updates desk procedures, saving the updated version to the CCTR shared drive. •Cross trains with the CCTR Human Resource Assistant as changes occur.
•May be required to perform other duties as assigned.
•May be required to assist the Department or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor.
Minimum Qualifications
•Working knowledge of human resource principles and practices and related federal and state laws and regulations; of personnel transactions; of records management and reconciliation; and of proper grammar, spelling and punctuation.
•Skill in keyboarding, data entry and in the use of MS Office Suite, with proficiency in the extensive use of Microsoft Excel.
•Demonstrated ability to analyze data and reach logical conclusions; to work independently and as a member of a team; to prioritize work, using initiative to accomplish work; to interpret and apply policies and procedures; and communicate effectively in English, orally and in writing, with diverse individuals and groups.
•Graduation from high school or equivalent.
•Progressively responsible human resource experience is required.
•An equivalent combination of training and experience indicating possession of the preceding knowledge, skills and abilities may substitute for this training and experience.
