The Home Infusion Pharmacy Manager will actively lead the development of the pharmacy through continuous improvement activities. As a member of our leadership pharmacy team, you would oversee approximately 18 team members. This role will oversee daily operations of the Home Infusion Pharmacy and ensure that the pharmacy is in accordance with federal and state regulations as well as The Joint Commission, Medical Center, and departmental guidelines. This role includes a variety of administrative and clinical functions in a fast-paced office environment requiring communication and coordination with staff and vendors. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing expertise in support of the patient assessment and care process through their strong knowledge of infusion pharmacy drug distribution systems, financial management, pharmaceutical inventory control systems, drug information system, quality assurance methods, regulatory requirements, and clinical practice.
Manages the activities of professional, technical, and support staff who perform tasks related to the ordering, preparation, compounding, dispensing, use, storing, distribution, and control of drugs and other pharmaceutical products
Completes essential human resource functions associated with staff supervision and team leadership such as selecting, training, developing, and evaluating staff members and initiating personnel actions in accordance with departmental policies and organization values
Facilitates the training and continuing education of staff members and provides direction and support to staff to ensure effectiveness and efficiency
Performs and monitors drug distribution procedures in compliance with state and federal laws and regulations
Oversees, prepares, and updates policies and procedures affecting the Pharmacy
Engages in continuous study of the entire home infusion professional field to maintain the professional competence, knowledge, and skills necessary for satisfactory performance of all assigned responsibilities
Anticipates customer needs and manages the provision of services to all customers, including patients, physicians, hospital departments, and staff
Tracks, reports, and communicates key metrics to ensure consistent growth and progress towards achieving organizational goals
Enhances the quality of delivery of care
Supports education and professional growth through the training of pharmacy residents, students, and pharmacy technician trainees
In addition to the above duties, additional duties may be assigned
Position Compensation Range: $130,416.00 - $208,665.60 Annual
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education: Pharmacy degree (B.S. and/or Pharm.D.) from an ACPE accredited College of Pharmacy required. Master's degree preferred. Experience: 1 year of experience required, management experience preferred. Experience in home infusion pharmacy preferred. Specialized residency training in pharmacy administration will be considered in lieu of experience. Licensure: Commonwealth of Virginia State Board of Pharmacy License required.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers. The job does occasionally require traveling some distance to attend meetings, and programs.
