Prepares and delivers medications to patients and/or nursing units under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist/licensed independent practitioner. Online classroom training through Pharmacy Technician University, Experiential training in our state-of-the-art pharmacy, Preparation for passing the national certification exam. Candidates accepting a position will continue in their role as a pharmacy technician after completing the program and achieving their Virginia Registration. Candidates must complete Pharmacy Technician University and achieve registration within 2 years of employment.
Fills and delivers medications under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist/licensed independent practitioner. Policies and procedures are followed consistently. Ensures adequate supplies are available for continuous patient care. Triages and escalates any questions or issues outside the pharmacy technician scope of practice to the staff pharmacist or supervisor as needed. Uses appropriate systems for processing of patient information. Ensures quality assurance is maintained according to departmental and legal requirements. Operates pharmacy equipment appropriately. In addition to the above job responsibilities, other duties may be assigned. Position Compensation Range: $20.68 - $32.05 Hourly
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education: High School Graduate or Equivalent Experience: 6 months minimum relevant experience required License/Certification: Commonwealth of Virginia Pharmacy Technician Registration required. CPhT credential through National Healthcareer Association (NHA) orPharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) required. For team members hired prior to February 1, 2020, certification as CPhT through NHA or PTCB is required by January 31, 2022.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Job requires standing for prolonged periods. Proficient communicative, auditory and visual skills; Attention to detail and ability to write legibly; Ability to lift/push/pull less than 20lbs.
