PHYS - Group Lab Database Assistant (Staff Wage)

The Department of Physics at the University of Virginia seeks a Part time Database Assistant (~5 hours per week) for help with data entry and validation for particle physics experiment hardware database.

This part-time wage position will remain open until filled.

Compensation will take the form of wages at $20.00/hr.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education: High school diploma or equivalent

Experience: At least 1 year of lab experience, which may include student experience.Bachelor's degree will be considered in lieu of experience.

Licensure: None

Preferred Experience:

• Degree in computer science with database experience.
• Experience with the Mu2e hardware database is a major bonus.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

This position can spend extensive periods of time standing and squatting while conducting experiments or caring for animals. Also requires keyboarding and other bench work and animal procedures requiring finer finger manipulation.
