PHYS - Paschke Lab Tech 1 Monte Carlo (Staff Wage)

The Department of Physics at the University of Virginia seeks a Part-Time Lab and Research Tech 1 for the Paschke Lab. The Lab Tech 1 will assist with research tasks in experimental nuclear physics, including Monte Carlo simulation of particle scattering experiments using GEANT4 and ROOT libraries and computerized data analysis.

This part-time wage position will remain open until filled.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education: High school diploma or equivalent

Experience: At least 1 year of lab experience, which may include student experience.Bachelor's degree will be considered in lieu of experience.

Licensure: None

Preferred Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Physics strongly preferred

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

This position can spend extensive periods of time standing and squatting while conducting experiments or caring for animals. Also requires keyboarding and other bench work and animal procedures requiring finer finger manipulation.
