UVA Health is seeking a compassionate and skilled Physical Therapist to join our multidisciplinary rehabilitation team. The Physical Therapist evaluates, plans, and implements individualized treatment programs to restore function, improve mobility, relieve pain, and prevent disability for patients across the lifespan. This position offers the opportunity to work in a collaborative academic medical center environment dedicated to excellence in patient care, education, and innovation.


  • Key Responsibilities

    • Perform comprehensive physical therapy evaluations and develop individualized treatment plans based on patient needs and goals
    • Implement therapeutic interventions including exercise, manual therapy, functional training, and modalities
    • Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans to optimize outcomes
    • Educate patients and caregivers on treatment plans, home exercise programs, and injury prevention
    • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate patient care
    • Document patient evaluations, treatment sessions, and outcomes in accordance with regulatory and organizational standards
    • Maintain compliance with all departmental, state, and federal guidelines
    • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and continuing education opportunities


    Qualifications

    Education

    • Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy program required
    • Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) preferred


    Licensure & Certification

    • Current Virginia Physical Therapist License (or eligible to obtain) required
    • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required


    Experience

    • Prior clinical experience in physical therapy preferred
    • New graduates encouraged to apply


    Preferred Qualifications

    • Experience in outpatient physical therapy
    • Strong clinical reasoning and patient-centered care approach
    • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
    • Commitment to professional growth and evidence-based practice


    COMPENSATION

    The base salary range for this role is $80,000 - 95,0000 annually. Individual compensation will be determined by the selected candidate’s qualifications, previous work experience and/or education.
