Mission or Goal of Unit: The mission of the Department of Radiology is to create a world-class department by providing optimal care in a patient-centered environment, providing sub-specialty expertise, providing top quality imaging and therapeutic procedures, and to advance medical education and research, with a vision to create a department that is recognized as top tier nationally and internationally.
Chief Purpose of this position: The Department of Radiology at Virginia Commonwealth University, Medical College of Virginia is currently seeking applicants for one full-time faculty position in the Division of Diagnostic Radiology.
Position Responsibilities:
Teaching - Provide training to medical students, residents and fellows, who rotate through the Department of Radiology.
Research - Continue to promote professional relationships with other clinical departments to foster interdisciplinary research.
Service - Time and effort is expected to be devoted to academic service-related activities. This shall include college, school and departmental committee work, professional growth and other such assignments.
Clinical - Provide high quality, sub-specialized imaging interpretations and clinical care as well as perform high quality, state of the art image-guided procedures in support of the referring physicians and patients of VCUHS.
Required Qualifications:
ABR certification or documentation of passing the Core Component of the ABR Board examination;
Experience as a general diagnostic radiologist in a high-volume radiology department.
Candidates must demonstrate experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff and student environment or commitment to do so as a faculty member at VCU;
Candidates must have a current license to practice medicine in Virginia or the ability to qualify for licensure;
and be eligible for permanent employment in the USA.
Preferred Qualifications:
Fellowship in Abdominal Imaging, Emergency Radiology, Neuroradiology or MSK.
