Job Description
Resilient Renewable Energy Grid Adaptation Laboratory (REGAL) and the Bradley Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Virginia Tech invite applications for a Postdoctoral Associate at our main Blacksburg, Virginia campus. The associated projects will have the common theme of #control, #cybersecurity, and #protection of (#gridforming) #inverter-based resources (#IBR) in low-inertia power systems. The successful candidate will mainly work on proposal writing, conducting research, helping in day-to-day operation of REGAL, and assisting faculty and graduate students with research.
Required Qualifications
- Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science. PhD must be awarded no more than four years prior to the effective date of appointment with a minimum of one year eligibility remaining.
- Willingness to and take initiative to learn new concepts.
- Possess excellent math and generating professional-grade code skills.
- A solid record in publishing journal papers in tier-one venues and writing research proposals.
Preferred Qualifications
- Hands-on experience in research settings.
- Knowledge or willingness to learn, #PSCAD and #LaTeX.
